An unforgettable day

Chinese new year is around the corner, everybody seems busy with the new year preparation. But for me, I dun really feel like celebrating it. The first day of new year of 2006 had been a terrible and unforgettable day in my life. I still remember that day when I finally reached home and reunite with my family, we had dinner together and it is always our tradition to visit our relatives on the next few days of new year. We sat happily in the livng room and watching the TV show for the new year countdown... everything went well. Suddenly, I heard the phone rang and I answered the phone, I was thinking that it might be a call from my friends or relative for new year greetings. But what really surprised me was I heard someone sobbering over the phone and it was my aunt, after a few minutes, I was told that my cousin was killed in an road accident and my aunt was calling from the hospital. I was utterly dumfounded and I passed the call to my dad, everybody was shocked. The accident happened in the midnight but my cousin was found after a few hours later, It was apparently that she was bleeding to dead. She had just turned 16 and fate had brought her away from from us. I cant believe that my cousin had gone forever...the next few days, we spent our day in the funeral. My cousin's death had left the emptiness in our heart, I never thought that the first and the last I met with her was in her funeral, I saw her dead body in the coffin, the impact of the accident had distorted her pretty face and made her body swollen... but the most cruel part is that we had lost her forever...
I will never forget what happened on that day and I will be frightened whenever I hear phone ringing in the midnight.

Thanks to Jolene and Alex. Yeah,Life is unpredictable, none of us could tell the future,we never know what will happen and we cant change anything in the past, that's cruel but I think we all have to live our life to the fullest, every moment, new moment... just look out the window in the morning, welcome everyday as it is a brand new day for us..
